Senior Account Executive (Climate)
Location: Remote (Preference for NYC or Pittsburgh, PA)
Company: Honeycomb Credit
ABOUT HONEYCOMB CREDIT
Honeycomb Credit is rewiring how local businesses and climate projects get funded. Through SEC-regulated investment crowdfunding, we connect business owners directly with everyday investors, turning customers, neighbors, and fans into stakeholders. Since 2017, we've deployed tens of millions of dollars into hundreds of businesses across 30+ states.
Our Climate vertical - built on the foundation of our acquisition of Raise Green - is dedicated to making clean energy and sustainability projects financeable. From solar installers and energy-efficiency contractors to community-scale renewable developers, we help climate-focused businesses unlock capital from the investors who believe in their mission.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a Senior Account Executive to own and grow our climate business pipeline end-to-end. This is a high-autonomy origination role: you'll identify and qualify climate-focused small businesses, guide them through the Honeycomb offering process, and close funding campaigns that have real-world environmental impact.
This is the kind of role where you're not just selling a financial product, you're building the infrastructure for a cleaner economy, one business at a time. You'll be one of the first dedicated climate sales hires, which means you'll have a direct hand in shaping the playbook.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the full sales cycle for climate-vertical clients, from initial outreach and qualification through term sheet execution and campaign launch.
- Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of climate businesses including clean energy developers, sustainability services companies, EV infrastructure operators, and green construction firms.
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for prospects, guiding founders and CFOs through Honeycomb's underwriting, crowdfunding mechanics, and SEC filing process.
- Partner cross-functionally with Honeycomb's credit, campaign management, and marketing teams to maximize each client's funding success.
- Develop and refine outbound strategies targeting climate-focused accelerators, CDFIs, trade associations, and state clean energy programs as referral channels.
- Represent Honeycomb at climate-finance convenings, clean energy conferences, and community investment events to build brand presence in the sector.
- Track pipeline activity, conversion metrics, and campaign performance in CRM; provide regular forecasting to leadership.
- Contribute to product and process feedback loops - your clients' insights will directly shape how we evolve our climate offering.
WHO YOU ARE
You should apply if any of the following describes you:
- You believe in impact. You want your sales work to matter.
- You root for the little guy. You want to fund the kinds of businesses most lenders overlook, and you know how to speak their language.
- You make complexity feel simple. Complex, multi-stakeholder deals energize you. You can translate regulatory requirements, crowdfunding mechanics, and financial structures without losing a prospect.
- You're a hunter. You don't wait for inbound. You map ecosystems, find the right contacts, and build relationships that lead to pipeline.
- You know the climate-finance landscape. The Inflation Reduction Act, community solar, PACE financing, Reg CF, these aren't acronyms you have to Google.
- You sell through relationships. You help founders see a path forward, not just a product. They trust you because you've earned it.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 7+ years of full-cycle B2B sales experience, with a track record of consistent quota attainment in complex or consultative sales environments.
- Experience selling financial products, alternative lending, or capital solutions to small and mid-sized businesses.
- Comfort navigating multi-stakeholder sales with founders, CFOs, and operational leads simultaneously.
- Strong pipeline discipline - you manage your funnel with rigor and forecast with accuracy.
- Ability to learn and credibly communicate a regulated financial product (Honeycomb will train you on Regulation Crowdfunding specifics).
- Self-directed and entrepreneurial, you thrive in environments where you're building, not just executing a playbook.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience selling into or originating deals in the clean energy, climate tech, or sustainability sectors.
- Familiarity with community development finance, CDFIs, impact investing, or alternative capital markets is a plus.
- Network within clean energy trade organizations, green business associations, or climate accelerator communities.
- Experience with Regulation Crowdfunding or securities-based fundraising products.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In your first 90 days, you'll have mapped the climate business ecosystem, identified priority outreach channels, and launched your first closed campaign. Within six months, you'll own a healthy pipeline with consistent weekly activity and be a recognizable presence in the climate-finance community. By the end of year one, you'll have meaningfully grown Honeycomb's climate vertical revenue and helped shape our go-to-market playbook for the sector.
